The Inaugural "Handmade in America" Professional Craft Show will be held at the Upper Township Community Center on Saturday, November 22 (the Saturday BEFORE Thanksgiving).

Vendors are chosen by invitation only, and every vendor is from Cape May, Atlantic, or Cumberland counties. Every item in the show is made by skilled craftsmen, so everything is literally "handmade in America."

Show hours are from 9 am to 3:30 pm.

Admission is free, but donations are always welcome.

Vendors include:

  • The Madd Potter (Julie Hickman)
  • Mermaid Tears Jewelry (Jennifer Harp-Douris)
  • Schoolhouse Enterprises (Merry May)
  • "Chocolate Face" (Becky Yank)
  • Bob Broschard's Wood-Turned products
  • Historic Cold Spring Village
  • Third Star Fiber Arts Guild
  • Joan Seibert's Ducks, Etc.
  • Theorem Paintings by Joan Berkey
  • Seahorse Designs (Doreen Hambro)
  • Poly Gems by Arlene Groch

There are many more, including some top quality emerging artists.

The Greater Tuckahoe Area Merchants' Association is hosting the show as one of several annual fund-raising events to help raise money for their Scholarship Funds. This very small but active group has awarded over $150,000 in scholarships to local students since 1998.

Among the scholarships are: the James & Martha Owens Scholarship which goes to graduating local high school students, the Doris Stowell Scholarship, which is a $5,000 annual scholarship for high school Seniors, the Alex and Virginia May Scholarship, which is awarded to a high school Senior who plans to attend a community college, and the GTAMA Scholarships which go to students who are already enrolled in college.

Other activities for the day include a 50/50 Raffle, a Quilt Raffle hosted by local quilt guild South Shore Stitchers, a Raffle for a Riccar Vacuum Cleaner that was Made in the USA and has a custom patriotic paint job, music, food, and fun for all. The Vacuum Cleaner is partially donated by Dollard Baker Sew-Vac in Marmora.
